Dependent Ally: Study in Australian Foreign Policy
Edition 2 Rev ed
OverviewThis is the second edition of this analysis of Australia's central diplomatic relationships. It has been updated to cover the entire period up to Keating's election victory of 1993. Later chapters discuss the emergence of republicanism and the reorientation of Australia's foreign policy towards Asian regionalism. Earlier chapters take the analysis from the beginning: through the trauma of 1941-2; the "turn to America"; involvement in the Korean and Vietnam wars; to the end of the Cold War and the redefinition of international issues and relationships in the early 1990s.
