OverviewKaren V. Root is Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Biological Sciences at Bowling Green State University. Her primary research focus is the conservation of native biodiversity, including conservation planning and management. This research combines ecological field studies with the application of quantitative techniques such as G.I.S. and risk assessment to conservation issues across many scales. Dr. Root teaches undergraduate courses in Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Conservation Biology in Practice, and Wildlife Biology, as well as graduate seminars in ecology and conservation biology topics.
