Optimal Information Modeling Techniques
Kees Van Slooten
Despite the rapid advance of technology at the end of the 20th century, accurate, on-time and on-budget completion of information systems development projects is still a vision rather than a reality. Information modelling techniques are used during information systems analysis and design, and are important kinds of techniques, that are part of information systems development methodologies. An optimal information modelling technique may be defined as an information modelling technique that is most appropriate to be applied in a specific situation indicated by certain contingency factors. This text examines these methods and presents research in the field, to be applied to the management applications of modern organizations.
