Reframing Organizations: Artistry, Choice, and Leadership
OverviewIn this work, the authors consolidate key learnings from organization theory into four practical perspectives: the structural, human resource, political and symbolic. These frames show what is going on in organizations, and allow managers to clarify issues and create a flexible "big picture" management strategy. Using examples from business, education, health care and the public sector, the authors show how framing helps managers execute common management tasks such as building effective teams, responding to cutbacks, and managing technological change.
