The refrigerator consumes work at a rate of 3 kW and rejects heat to the surrounding atmosphere at the rate of 13.5 kW. Sketch the inventors layout and show, by using the appropriate formulas and calculations, that such a refrigerator is possible to develop Explain if the developed refrigerator is reversible or irreversible A reversible heat engine receives heat at a rate of 16 kW from a reservoir of a temperature of 1800 K. The engine rejects heat to the ambient atmoshere at 300 K. 60% of the power output of the engine is used to drive a reversible refrigerator operating between a reservoir at 260 K and the ambient. (b) (i) Sketch this arrangement. (i) Determine the thermal efficiency and the power output of the engine (ii) Calculate the COP of the refrigerator and total heat removed from the refrigerated space Determine the total heat rejected to the ambient atmosphere (iv)
