With the help of a diagram show how to express the Mach cone angle (a) as a function of the speed of the object (u) and the sonic speed (a) [6 marks] d) An object is moving with a velocity of 450 m/s through air. The static temper- ature of the air is -10 °C. Calculate the angle of the Mach cone produced by the object. Use a value of 287 J/(kg K) for the gas constant, and 1.4 for the ratio of spe- cific heats. [4 marks]
