The concrete compressive strength is 4,000 psi and the area of each No. 7 reinforcing bar is 0.60 in2 (yield strength of steel 60 ksi). Elastic moduli of steel and concrete (normal weight concrete) are 29,000 ksi and 3,605 ksi, respectively. Calculate the nominal flexural moment capacity of the section using the equivalent rectangular stress distribution (Whitney stress block) Also, check if the reinforcing bars (in both layers) will yield. 30 33 36 2-#7 4-#7 36
