If the chopper frequency is 200 Hz, calculate chopper ON time Ta so that the motor develops a torque of 200 Nm at 900 rpm. [10 Marks] b) A 3 phase, 5k VA, 4-pole, 60 Hz, star connected synchronous machine has negligible stator winding resistance and a synchronous reactance of 8 Ω per phase at rated terminal voltage. Determine the excitation voltage and the power angle when the machine is delivering rated kVA at 0.& PF lagging. Draw the phasor diagram for this condition.
