Rockfly Tires is a new competitor to Flyrock, started by a former Flyrock employee. Rockfly had one tire manufacturing facility that used processes and technology modeled after Flyrock’s.
Rockfly had secured a customer for its XA-12 tires (competing against Flyrock’s AX-521) that required thickness specification of 400 + 8 thousandth of an inch.
Rockfly claimed that the company is able to produce more consistent quality, and used data from the extruder process to support their claim.
Analysis of the process found that the extruder produced 400 thousandth with a standard deviation of 5. (5 points each)
