Written by a dynamite author team of experienced educators with expertise in solution-focused practice, this text for social work, counseling, and psychology students guides current and future case managers in learning a strengths-based, collaborative approach to case management. This book provides not only the philosophical basis for solution-focused casework practice, but, based on the authors' own experiences, emphasizes the practical "how to" of the model. It will present tools for solution-focused case management practice and will discuss how to establish a collaborative relationship, identify goals, monitor progress, work with other agencies, and transition out of treatment. It also discusses issues related to ethical practice and presents strategies for self-care. It will be a valuable resource for case managers and students of social work, counseling, psychology, and nursing.
